Sno Glo Cookie Competition Registration

Join the Shreveport Regional Arts Council at artspace for a sweet celebration of holiday cheer at the Sno Glo Cookie Competition, December 6th at artspace during the Downtown Artwalk.  All licensed bakeries and bakery businesses in the Caddo Bossier area  are invited to showcase their cookie-making prowess and compete for the coveted title of "Best Holiday Cookie” with cash and other prizes.

Here are the rules and details for this delectable event:

Competition Date and Location:

  • Date: Wednesday, December 6, 2023 :  4:00pm - 9:00pm

  • Location: artspace, Downtown Shreveport, 708 Texas St.

Eligibility:

  • Open to all bakery businesses in the Caddo / Bossier area.

  • There is no limit on the number of submissions per bakery.

Submission Requirements:

  • Each participating bakery must provide six cookies of each recipe for jurors’ tasting.

  • Cookies will be judged based on the following criteria:

    1. Appearance

    2. Taste

    3. Texture

    4. Overall Holiday Appeal

  • A panel of cookie-eating experts will evaluate the entries and determine the winners.

  • Each cookie should have a list of possible allergens.


Entry Fees:

  • There is a $15 entry fee per business, which includes a table for your baked goods and one cookie submission.

  • For every additional cookie submission, there is a fee of $5 per cookie recipe.

  • Payment for entry fees must be made in advance and is non-refundable.

Table Setup and Sales:

  • Each participating business will be provided with a designated table for showcasing their cookies.

  • Businesses are encouraged to bring multiple dozens of cookie trays to sell to the large crowds gathered for the Holiday Downtown Art.  Additionally you may want to take pre-orders during the event.

  • Tables can be decorated in a festive and creative manner to enhance the overall ambiance and appearance of your creative cookies.

  • Samples for public consumption are encouraged but not mandatory.

  • Any goods can be sold or displayed on the table. (Jellies, breads, cakes, muffins, etc…)

Prizes:

  • Prizes will be awarded to the top-performing bakeries, including the title of "Best Cookie in Town!" and other recognition.

Event Schedule:

  • The Holiday Cookie Competition will take place on Wednesday, December 6th, with specific timing and setup details provided to participants closer to the event date.

  • 3:00pm - 4:00pm : Check in / Display setup

  • 5:00pm : Downtown Artwalk Begins

  • 6:00pm : Jury process

  • 7:00pm : Prize Announcement

  • To register for the competition, please visit artspaceshreveport.com and complete the online registration form.

  • Payment of the entry fees can also be completed through the registration portal.

Important Notes:

  • All cookies must be prepared and presented in compliance with local health and safety regulations.

  • Participants are responsible for bringing their own utensils, display materials, and any additional equipment needed.

  • The event organizers will ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants and attendees.

  • Cookies/Holiday Good Sales are managed by each vendor.  Vendors retain 100% of the sale of goods.
