Join the revitalization of the Northwest Louisiana Art Community with a quadruple feature of CRITICAL MASS' 9 AND 10 SOLO SHOWS at artspace in downtown Shreveport on September 16, 2022. The exhibition showcases the creativity of visual and literary artists Eric Francis, Julie Kane, Debra Roberson, and Genaro Ky Ly Smith. The event aims to recover from the cancellation of the 2020 Solo Show due to Covid-19.

CRITICAL MASS, initiated by the Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) in 2012, features an annual showcase of local artists with critical reviews by renowned critics, including Robert Pincus, Lauren Smart, Gabriel Shaffer, Greg Bownderville, Emily Wilkerson, and Leigh Camacho Rourks. "Best of Show" winners receive a $2,000 commission for a solo show at artspace.

Critical Mass 9 Visual Artist Eric Francis presents "Into the Imagination," offering a glimpse into his artistic mind. Critical Mass 9 Literary Artist Julie Kane's exhibition, "I Will Not Write A Pandemic Poem," is a video based on her pandemic duplex poems. Critical Mass 10 Visual Artist Debra Roberson explores life on Cane River in "Cane River Chronicles: Unveiled." Critical Mass 10 Literary Artist Genaro Ky Ly Smith's exhibition, "A Napalm Lullaby," presents paradoxes of family life in Vietnam during the war.

These solo shows celebrate regional talent, marking the culmination of two years of Critical Mass Critics' Choice Awards. The opening on September 16th at artspace promises an engaging experience, featuring visual and literary creativity that reflects the resilience of the arts community in Northwest Louisiana.
