“Flowers in her hair....Flowers Everywhere”
BY Sherry Tamburo
MEDIUM Fiber
This piece is hand-felted using wool and wool locks, silk, silk hankies, and viscose. When the pandemic began I joined a Wales felting group. Our current challenge is to wet felt a piece with facial features. The idea for my piece came from a song “The Rain, The Park & Other Things” by the Cowsills. The refrain from the song “Flowers in her Hair, flowers everywhere,” became my working concept and ultimately the name of this magical piece of fiber art with a hidden face and a hidden pocket for treasures.
