You took me away for the most part.

MEDIUM Steel, aluminum, and copper wire.
In this piece the stranger leaves, taking a part of the woman with him. She loses the company of the stranger and her own self-image as a creature of beauty. Blindsided by rejection, she reaches out after her collapse while the stranger walks away.
My sculptures are a tool that I use to understand myself and others. I make them in the image of people I know and love or hate. At the age of 3, I made them as toys and talismans, and continue that as an adult. They are the stories I want to believe in. I teach my art in the hope that wire sculpture will become more popular in the future.
