Art allows me to embrace the creative process as a nourishing natural therapy. The components of life and nature often present themselves clearly for rendering, while their meaning dances temptingly in the periphery. Whether whimsical, soulful, or disconcerting, there is always an element of guidance found. Even when I do not recognize the underlying meaning at first, I move forward, coming into my understanding of an artwork bit by bit as it becomes complete. Sometimes the realization may not strike until I stand, seeing it released to the public, much as you the viewer will see it now.

Like ingredients of a gumbo, the vibrant cultures of the Gulf States bring a lot of flavor to my life and art. In between amusing adventures and that second line to the promised land, uplifting or sad, life is full of champagne cork popping celebrations. Once these experiences seep through the media into the artwork, the final piece de resistance, the most remarkable feature, perception, lies with each of you.
