Beauty is not limited by our weight and the struggle we have with it. It’s not limited by our faults physically or emotionally. Too many struggle because of a society standard set for beauty and a stigma against those with mental illnesses. Looking past faults, we can see into the souls and see divinity within others. I paint this piece as I struggle with my own confidence and perceptions of myself. The woman in my painting isn’t about how I want my body to be, but about how confident in myself I wish I could be.
