Shreveport Common Temporary Public Art Call
The Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC), in collaboration with Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR), and in cooperation with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) offers opportunities for artists to create temporary public art installations in the 9-block area known as Shreveport Common. These works are intended to engage, intrigue, entertain, inspire, move, motivate, and/or interact with the public for a short period of time, eliminating the need for building a permanent installation. Temporary artworks maybe created with unusual media or installed in unexpected places. They may benefit a particular cause; pique public awareness of an important or timely issue; or simply add momentary beauty to a site. The program is also designed to place temporary artworks in outdoor public sites to serve as catalysts for conversations about art.
