Experience Northwest Louisiana’s finest visual and literary artists. Over 130 artists will be on display competing for a $2,000 prize for Best In Show for Literary and for Visual! This year’s Visual Art Critic is Robert Pincus, Ph.D., and the Literary Critic is David Kipen.

Robert Pincus has garnered many journalism prizes for his art reviews and commentary, including the Chemical Bank award for distinguished newspaper art criticism. He has a combined Ph.D. in English and Art History and teaches at California State University Long Beach. Pincus has written for Art News and Art in America for three decades and is a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal and Artbound, the Los Angeles cultural journalism PBS site.

David Kipen is the former literary director for the National Endowment of the Arts where he directed The Big Read. The former book critic and book editor for the San Francisco Chronicle and contributor to multiple volumes of California cultural history, Kipen holds a degree in literature from Yale University. Mr. Kipen founded Libros Schmibros, a lending library in the historic Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles and teaches in the UCLA writing program.
