The worship of Asherah was intertwined into religious practices during the Iron Age. During that time period, some Israelites also worshipped the Asherah pole. Mothers of certain Kings aspired to be held in a Goddesslike state the way Asherah had been so they propagated the practice of Asherah worship. Subtle nuances of this practice are strongly rooted in modern-day Christianity.
