MELINDA PARRIE
SUBTERRANEAN
by Melinda Parrie
MEDIUM Watercolor on 140lb hot press paper
I consider my watercolors to be autobiographical and psychologically exposing, in the sense that I do not try to rigidly control or contain the medium. I choose my color palette, my paper, and come up with a general idea of where I would like to go. The excitement comes in the journey - in wandering through the process and seeing where, exactly, I end up. I find the design and imagery in “Subterranean” to be highly symbolic of this process.
