It may not be apparent at first glance, but “Icarus Dreaming” is a meditative piece on institutionalized racism (as a function of capitalism) in the US. The muted patriotic color palette, the Roman coin-style portraiture, the parallel to the fate of Icarus…. All symbols of imperialist capitalism and its racist consequences.
