Feather five
BY Ginger Clarke
MEDIUM Faber-Castellated Pitt Artist Brush Pens, white acrylic paint and bronze metallic paint
Wanting to stretch the medium of pen and ink as well as colored pencils, I decided to execute Feather Five in an experimental approach.
Although the drawing began with black brush pen stippling I decided to combine a bronze stretch with various overlays of stippling as well as overlays of colored stippling.
I like to use negative space as positive space to enhance detail and stretch it out. I also tried unexpected color combinations in the stippling which weight the finished piece in a new way. Stretching to new mediums, colors and metallic colorations proved to be both exciting and challenging.
