March of 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic first began.... I was prompted by what I call...”Holy Spirit” to make masks. I had not sewn formally for the public in many years. I dusted my sewing machine off and started making cotton masks. To my utter shock, everything exploded as the demand was unprecedented. I have since shipped masks from the Bronx to Sacramento! To date I have created a minimum of 2,000 masks. I have stopped counting. I contemplated this impact and realized that I may have literally saved thousands of lives. If I exclude the sheer number of people that each wearer contacts .... conservatively, my masks have saved at least save 2,000 lives. The fabric pieces infused on this canvas are the actual scraps from the masks that I have made..
