Journey to the Heart

For Dustin Greer, life is an adventure in creativity. He considers his paintings as a crucible that sift and sort between what is real and conditioned, between what is essential and what is facilitated by personality. Dustin hopes to elevate primitive art and create a marriage of principles that connect us all.

Beside This Red River

While living in New Orleans, JK Lawson lost both his home and studio in Hurricane Katrina, along with 25 years of artwork and writing. Lawson has used this unfortunate loss as fuel for his own creative passion. Drawing from his recent series Juke Joint Men, this exhibition includes pieces dedicated to the Louisiana Hayride musicians, along with his signature pieces that incorproate reclaimed Mardi Gras beads, architectural drawings, and photographs, pieced together to create new and nostalgic images.

CRITICAL MASS 9

In its 9th year, Critical MASS returns to prove - despite everything 2020 threw at them - artists will prevail! Experience over 100 works from an active, producing community of Visual, Performing and Literary artists in Northwest Louisiana. It’s a Massive presentation. The Critical Challenge: Professional Critics will review each Arts Discipline to determine which Artist created the most compelling work of Art…one that merits a $2,000 commission to create a Solo Exhibition, Performance, and Literary Presentation.

Louisiana Trail Riders

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council is showcasing the contributions of African-American cowboys to the Trail Riding culture of Northwest Louisiana in two spectacular exhibitions.   LOUISIANA TRAIL RIDERS, an exhibition of powerful black and white photographic images by Louisiana State University Art professor Jeremiah Ariaz, documents the little-known, deep-rooted Africa-American trail riding tradition born of generations of working farms and raising cattle in Creole Louisiana. SADDLES AND SPURS “Out of the Shadows,” features the story of the trail riding culture of Northwest Louisiana.

Along for the Ride

Mike McSwain says, “I believe that this show is the embodiment of how two normal dudes can tackle today’s time, with all the uncertainty and weirdness, and turn it into a tale of love and respect for each other and for our collective brothers and sisters all around us.”
