Winner of the Critical Mass 2 Best in Show award, Taffie was selected by Arts Critic Susan Larson for a  solo show. In her exhibition “Dystopian Garden”, Taffie uses artwork to convey scenarios in human existence from the perspective of something smaller, to prompt the viewer to take a way the nature of a situation rather than the politics of it.

Statement from the artist

I create representational paintings of creatures in nature to express human conditions.  I like to use bugs and flowers as the subjects of my paintings to restrict the tendency of people to form biases based on race, gender and political affiliation. This allows for a new perspective and a way for them to see the nature of a situation rather than the politics of it.
