I saw this image in between being asleep and awake. The title is pretty straightforward, but the imagery I feel has layered symbolism and could mean different things to different people. Bees can mean happiness, but they also sting. The string around the tongue could symbolize memory like a string around a finger, but could also be interpreted as being tongue-tied.

For me, the piece was more about the feeling of being in limbo with someone you care about. A no man’s land.
