RAINBOW CITY @ THE COMMON provides a unique opportunity for ALL AREA ARTISTS to sell original artwork (Visual, Literary, Multi-Media, Culinary, and Fine Craft) within the whimsical installation of 35-40 colorful, huge, air-filled interactive sculptures that invite all to discover their playful and FRIENDLY side!
Northwest Louisiana Artists have an amazing opportunity to be a part of transforming the Rainbow City installation into a six-week festival of fun, art, music, food and ART SALES through your participation in the Arts Market @ Rainbow City! Through a strong partnership with the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau, it is anticipated that 50,000 people will visit RAINBOW CITY @ THE COMMON Park and the FriendsWithYou Exhibition @ ARTSPACE throughout the six-week installation!
The Arts Market @ Rainbow City is juried to provide our community with fresh, new art to gaze upon, experience, and purchase weekly! The Arts Market is generally a FOUR DAY vending opportunity, rotating artists each week. This is something that will benefit you, the Artist, AND the community by providing a market that is consistently well-balanced and diverse week to week. Space is limited- Apply NOW!
The ARTS MARKET @ RAINBOW CITY and GIFTSPACE @ ARTSPACE Opportunities
There are two ways for Artists to participate in the SALES OPPORTUNITY during RAINBOW CITY @ THE COMMON Park and FriendsWithYou Exhibition @ ARTSPACE:
1. ARTS MARKET @ RAINBOW CITY: Manage a booth for at least one weekend and up to three weekends at the RAINBOW CITY installation - outdoors @ THE COMMON Park. There will be a “Market” via a row of 10’ x 10’ tents provided for easy load in and out! Just bring your work and a great sign, and prepare to sell! NOTE: BOOTHS are available by the Thursday - Sunday Weekend…there are no “single day” opportunities; the Artist needs to provide a sales person to support the booth during all operating hours.
a. There are nominal booth fees for participation.
b. ROSTER ARTISTS receive a 10% discount.
c. There is NOT a requirement that an Artist be on the NWLA ARTISTS DIRECTORY; however, priority assignments are awarded to NWLA DIRECTORY ARTISTS.
d. Each weekly Arts Market @ RAINBOW CITY is curated for diversity and balance.

2. GIFTSPACE @ ARTSPACE: Submit your work to ARTSPACE for review and potential acceptance into the GIFTSPACE @ ARTSPACE. The ARTSPACE team selects the work and the number of pieces that will be represented in GIFTSPACE and oversees the display of the work. As work sells, the Artist is invited to bring additional work.
a. This is the indoor space for professional NWLA ARTISTS to sell original artworks and fine craft during the FriendsWithYou Exhibition at ARTSPACE.
b. The Artist must be registered on the NWLA ARTISTS DIRECTORY.
c. There are no advance fees, however, the Artist receives 70% of the Sale and ARTSPACE retains 30% of the sale.
d. The FriendsWithYou GIFTSPACE @ ARTSPACE is open from Saturday, October 25 - Saturday, December 21.
e. The general public hours for ARTSPACE during the FriendsWithYou Exhibition are:
i. Monday - Saturday 11:00 am - 5:30 pm
ii. Sunday 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
